The Lost Man Booker

The Lost Man Booker Prize was a one-off award to honour the books that missed out on the opportunity to win the Booker Prize in 1970, after a change to the eligibility rules. Unlike the Booker and International Booker Prizes, the Lost Man Booker shortlist was selected by a panel of three judges, and the winner was chosen via a public vote. Because of the unique nature of the Lost Man Booker, we don’t include the nominated books and authors in the statistics on this page. You can find out more about this special prize, including all the books long- and shortlisted, here.
