Tom Sutcliffe is a journalist and arts broadcaster.

He studied English at Emmanuel College, Cambridge and after graduating, joined the BBC and became editor of the BBC Radio 4 arts programme Kaleidoscope. In 1985 he left to help launch The Independent newspaper as its arts editor and still writes for the paper as a television reviewer and columnist. His work as a broadcaster includes several series of A Good Read and a BBC 2 series Watching, based on his own book about cinema. He has also presented Newsnight Review - BBC 2’s arts review programme. Sutcliffe has presented the BBC Radio 4 arts show Saturday Review since 1999, and is chairman of the Round Britain Quiz. In 1995 Sutcliffe won the Peter Black Award for Broadcast Journalism.
