Elizabeth Mavor
Elizabeth Mavor was in born in Glasgow, Scotland. Her novel The Green Equinox was shortlisted for the Booker Prize 1973
Mavor also wrote two non-fiction books, The Ladies of Llangollen and Fanny Kemble: American Journals. She was educated at St Leonard’s School, St Andrews and St Anne’s College, Oxford. She married the illustrator Haro Hodson, with whom she had two sons, and lived in Oxfordshire. She died in 2013.
