Roddy Doyle, Chair of the Booker Prize 2025 judges, shares his idea for a dream book club and reveals the fictional character he feels he has known his whole life

The panel is chaired by Booker Prize 1993 winner Roddy Doyle and includes Booker Prize-longlisted novelist Ayọ̀bámi Adébáyọ̀, writer, broadcaster, and literary critic Chris Power, award-winning actor, producer, publisher and businesswoman Sarah Jessica Parker, and New York Times bestselling and Booker Prize-longlisted author Kiley Reid. The 2025 judging panel will be looking for the best work of fiction, selected from entries published in the UK or Ireland between October 1, 2024 and September 30 2025.
