Glasgow-born MT (Mary Teresa) Rainey is a leading figure in the UK creative industries with an executive career spanning the UK and the US, both as a pioneer of account planning in the US and as founder of Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe in the UK, now part of WPP Group.

From 2006-2016 she was executive chairman of the highly regarded digital strategy agency Th_nk. In that period, she also designed and built the innovative online mentoring network horsesmouth.co.uk as a social enterprise. She has a portfolio of non-executive roles in the private sector and the arts.

MT is currently a non-executive director of Hays plc, U.S. listed Clearchannel Inc. and public affairs consultancy Charlotte St Partners Ltd. She is also a trustee of The Lighthouse Centre for The Arts in Poole.

She recently completed a six-year term as a non-executive director of Channel Four Television, the latter two years as deputy chair.  She has previously been a non-executive director of Pinewood Group, WH Smith plc and STV plc.

She was co-chair of the development board of 14-18Now, the acclaimed arts commissioning organisation set up to commemorate the centenary of the First World War, which delivered over 300 new works of public art over that period. She also served nine years (2008-2017) as vice chair of Creative Skillset, the UK Sector Skills Council for the creative industries.

MT Rainey
