Carol Lake is President of the J P Morgan Chase Foundation. Over the past 30 years she has held senior positions with a number of major global corporations including British Telecom, McDonnell Douglas, Cable & Wireless and J.P. Morgan, where she has spent the last 21 years.

While at J.P. Morgan, Carol has held a number of positions including the Head of Diversity and Inclusion for the Europe, Middle East and Africa Region. Having focussed her energies on emerging corporate responsibility activities, Carol has been instrumental in building the firm’s philanthropic practice globally, overseeing ongoing grant-making, skills-based volunteering and disaster response in 38 countries around the world. 

Carol has served on a number of boards and advisory committees for government, non-profits and academic institutions including: The Children’s Plan Expert Panel, The Equalities Review, The Race Disparity Advisory Committee, The Culture Recovery Board (all for the UK Government). She has also been a trustee of the Council of University College London and advisory council member for the Sutton Trust, the Education Endowment Foundation and Into University. 

She is a passionate supporter of the arts and has served on the boards of Sadlers Wells, The Young Vic theatre, The Almeida theatre, Theatre Royal Stratford East and the Battersea Arts Centre. 

In the Queen’s 2021 New Year Honours list, Carol was awarded an OBE for services to the arts during the Covid-19 pandemic for her work on the Culture Recovery Board.

Carol Has been recognised twice in the Power List (black leaders) and in the Top 100 BAME leaders in business (UK). In 2016 she was named as Financial Services Leader of the Year at the Black British Business Awards.
