Mister Pip

Matilda lives in a small village on a lush tropical island in the South Pacific. Quietly, war is encroaching from the other end of the island. As the villagers’ safe, predictable lives are brutally shattered by the conflict, Matilda takes inspiration from an unusual source. Through her spiritual connection with the fictional Pip, the young hero of Charles Dickens’ Great Expectations, she finds the strength to keep going as violence rages all around.
