Jan Dalley is an editor and writer.

Jan Dalley has been the arts editor of the Financial Times since 2005, having joined in 1999 as the literary editor. She had been the literary editor of the Independent on Sunday for eight years, and has written arts and literary journalism for fifteen years. Before becoming a journalist, she worked in publishing. Jan has judged other literary prizes including the Whitbread, the Hawthornden prize and the Encore Prize. Her books include the biography, Diana Mosley: A Life, (1999) and Black Hole: Money, Myth and Empire (2006). Jan contributes to arts programmes on television and radio, including Newsnight, the Today Programme, Front Row and the Saturday Review.
